Holy [fill in the blank] Batman!

Monday night I went to see Batman Begins. That was a kick-ass movie. Stop reading the blog right now and go see it. I mean it. You're still reading. Don't you listen to me? GO SEE IT NOW!!!

By far the best movie I've seen in a while. I did enjoy Episode III and Mr. & Mrs. Smith, but this killed them. It was very dark and just well done. Much better than the last few Batman flicks that have come out. They got a little too cartoony and silly. This was more realistic I guess you would say. In fact, it might be the best Batman flick yet, with perhaps the one exception being the original movie. Christian Bale was good as Bruce Wayne/Batman, but he's no Adam West. I hope they continue the franchise where they left off here.

Last night was bad. Well actually it was really good. It was this morning that was bad. Samantha, who used to work for me, was back visiting from Toronto so a bunch of us after work went out to Mad Hatter's with her. It ended up being her, Siobhan, Fanta, Melanie, Sonia, their friend Julie and I. Siobhan's boyfriend came later too. They were drinking Sangria, which I refuse to drink so I had a beer. Well Melanie is also a beer drinker (cuz she's cool) so I started buying pitchers. Well, by the time the night was done, I myself had consumed just under 3 pitchers of beer and 1 mixed drink that I believe was Vodka and Cranberry juice, but I could be wrong. So yeah, this morning was not fun. But, I walked it off and made it the whole day through work. It'll be an early night though. Melanie had like 3 beers out of those pitchers. And before I ordered them I had 2. So yeah it was just about 3 pitchers. The canucks in the office were surpised I was still alive. I told them I was having a bad night. On any other night I would have had twice that much but I wasn't feeling well. They're so gullible, it's great.

Alas, I'm going to have to do that again tomorrow, but not to the level I did last night. Delia is coming over for some Lagavulin and Cigars so... I need to tidy up a little. Though my place is actually fairly clean but still.

Oh yeah... there was an article in yesterday's paper... Gas prices up here have gone bullshit. The station closest to my apartment is selling gas a 99.9 cents a litre. At 3.785 litres a gallon and today's exchange rate, you in the US would be paying $3.04 for 1 gallon of regular unleaded. Holy Shit. Thankfully I don't drive around up here that much.

Today I also got to chat a bit with my pal Bobby Zima today through email. He still has my Greg Glen (you know.. Kielbasa!) ride cymbal. Not in a hurry to get it back but, just making sure that I do. He may give it to Lenny or one of his guys at 7 Springs. Jeez between that and Lenny taking my drums back from Wildwood, who the hell needs UPS!? He should start charging more though. haha. But that's cool of him. Zima, however may continue to hold my Greg Glen (you know... Kielbasa!) cymbal for ransom.

Friday was supposed to be a day off up here.. some lame Quebec holiday, but, due to the state of the business, I have to take part in a conference call. Luckily I was able to convince them to push it back to 1pm instead of the 9am that they wanted. Screw that. Why wake up early on a day off to deal with that stuff?

That's it for now. I think I'm going to actually pop Batman: The Movie into the DVD player and watch it as I haven't seen it in a while. I'll probably update again this weekend.

NOW GO SEE BATMAN BEGINS BEFORE I GET REALLY MAD!!!
